For the final community practice, I read the Wikipedia article on the civil war of El Salvador: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerra_civil_de_El_Salvador.
I learned that "fuerza" is "force" and "enfrentarse" means "to face". "desarollar" means "to develop". "aunque" means "although". "desaparecidos" means "missing". "desmovilizacion" means "demobilization". We talked about how the US was supporting the government forces, but I didn't know that the Soviet Union was supporting the liberation front.
